Oakville, ON – June 4th, 2018 – QuaeNet Inc., is announcing a partnership with Sensoterra, an Amsterdam based IoT organization. This partnership is the first in Canada and Italy, QuaeNet will be offering the solution that delivers real-time data regarding moisture levels in soil.
With Canada’s and Italy’s strong agriculture industries, Sensoterra’s soil moisture sensor helps growers with irrigation decisions, conserve water use, and improve crop yields by providing the right amount of water, at the right time.
The use case for these IoT soil moisture devices go beyond farming within Canada, and is applicable for Smart Cities and Smart Homes. Introducing the remote sensors can help to reduce water waste in public landscaping, golf courses and maintenance companies, as well as consumer usage for grass and garden care.
“The benefit of using the Sensoterra irrigation sensors along with QuaeNet’s cross-Canada and Italy network are many; simple installation, rugged wireless design, long battery life,” Ossama Bessada CEO of QuaeNet Inc. comments. “On the QuaeNet network it’s a turn-key operation, providing real-time data instantly, long range coverage, and the most cost-effective LoRaWAN™ solution.”
“More and more data are required for smart irrigation decisions. Today’s sensors must be low cost, easy to install and last for long periods of time in the field. Only then will growers be able to scale their deployments and benefit from true operational visibility,” said Jurriaan Ruys, CEO of Sensoterra. “The opportunities to reach this scale across Canada and Italy are amplified in partnership with QuaeNet’s network coverage.”
